Privacy Policy
Effective June 12, 2026.
The most important part
Audio never leaves your device. SoundCoach uses the microphone to measure levels and analyze sound, but all audio processing happens locally on your iPhone. We do not record, store, or transmit audio.
What data is processed and how
Microphone (local only)
The decibel meter, spectrum analyzer, and feedback detector process audio in real time on your device. That audio is never saved or sent to any server.
AI assistant (numeric data, not audio)
When you request a recommendation, the app sends to our servers only:
- A numeric summary of the analysis (frequency band levels, detected resonances, estimated reverberation time, and similar metrics).
- The problem description you write and the tags you select.
- The context you provide (source and venue type) and your preferred language.
This data is processed with an artificial-intelligence model (Claude, by Anthropic) to generate recommendations. It contains no audio and no personally identifying data.
Anonymous account
The app creates an anonymous session (a random Firebase identifier) to enforce your plan's usage limits. We do not ask for your name, email, or any personal data.
History
Your recommendations are stored on your device and in our database (Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore), tied only to your anonymous identifier. You can delete the local history in the app by swiping each entry.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase (anonymous authentication, database, and cloud functions) — privacy policy.
- Anthropic (AI-generated recommendations) — privacy policy.
If the free tier shows ads in the future or subscriptions are added, this policy will be updated before that change ships.
Retention and deletion
History tied to your anonymous identifier is kept while your session exists. If you want us to delete the data associated with your identifier, write to us and we will do so within 30 days.
Children
SoundCoach is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date.
